For many years WPG S.A. has been developing topographic maps in a new, digital form, i.e. BDOT 10K and KARTO databases. These databases contain information on land cover, buildings, roads, watercourses and other topographical objects. The maintenance of the bases is the responsibility of the marshals of individual voivodships, who commission commercial entities to update them periodically. WPG has repeatedly carried out such studies commissioned by the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship.
Work on the topographic map starts with downloading and verifying the archive database. In the next step, the database is updated based on data from various offices and institutions, information obtained from the current orthophotomap and from site visits.
